To make it all meme-y, I've bolded a few favorites and stricken a couple I consider kinda crappy. If you are a fan of cutting-edge fantasy and/or are craving a complex depiction of a romantic relationship between two men, begin with Luck in the Shadows, the first Nightrunner novel. What is particularly lovely about this slim volume is that in a few, relatively brief moments, Flewelling captures the essence of her beloved characters and makes these important, liminal moments in their lives (back before they were the people they are “today”) completely believable. I found it to be the least enjoyable of the 4 books because it was more of a typical “whodunnit” Traitor's Moon (Nightrunner, Vol. The Nightrunner series rocks!!! To me, “Luck” and “Stalking” were both really good because they were a fine blend of Nightrunning action and also explored conflict and growth between Seregil and Alec.
